James Henry Williams
Creator/Author

James grew up in Richmond California and attended the following
schools: Peres Elementary School, Roosevelt and Granada Junior High
Schools, and Graduated from Harry Ells High School, and Contra Costa
Community College, in San Pablo, California.

James received a B.S., and MS. in Sociology and counseling from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.

James is also listed in "Who's Who Among Students" in American
Colleges and Universities of America, As well as "The National Student
Register" and consistently made the Honor Roll and Deans List at Southern
Oregon University. He is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and
A.F.T.R.A.

James Williams also had pro football experience with the L.A. Rams.

Letter of Anticipation for the 2005 Calendar

James Williams called my college office to say that the new year's calendar is ready for distribution, &, as last year, I'm very happy to support his effort. As a community college history instructor, I can readily affirm the educational value of James' work, & will most certainly push my students to consider purchase. For me, the heart of James' enterprise is his gallant labor of love, proving beyond all doubt that for informed Americans, every month of every year is "Black History Month". Challenging the still lingering notion that Black Culture & its monumental achievements is somehow only an occasional "footnote" to an otherwise vibrant national culture remains an important educational task, one that James has undertaken with resourcefulness & resolve. We at Los Medanos College are privileged to share in his passion, & in the human learning he has helped create.
